Our Visual Identity
Concept: Futsal Calgary was first launched in 2007. It was embodied by ‘the Fire Ball’ of FeverSports. That shape appears on top of the logo-type which is expressed by the Raleway font family.
Unity & Inclusivity: In 2022, Futsal Calgary reinforced our belief in Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity, and Indigenity. We added THREE (3) colours to the visual identity – Magenta (Female), Cyan (Male), and Orange (Treaty 7).
Our Ambassadors
What do we see coming in the next 5 years? Futsal Nationals in Calgary? World Cup Futsal in Canada? Or Futsal being part of the Winter Olympics? We can dare to dream! At Futsal Calgary, our Ambassadors volunteer tremendous amount of time and effort to foster the growth of the game, one step at a time.
Brian Wong
Ever since watching the World Futsal Championship in 1992 in his hometown – Hong Kong, Brian Wong has fall in love with the game. Once settled in Calgary, Brian dove into futsal as he became a certified futsal referee, played in and coached for multiple futsal teams before he eventually founded Futsal Calgary in 2007. The league later on successfully aligned with Calgary United Soccer Association, which has recognized Brian’s contribution with an Award of Merit in 2018.
“Having a portion of our soccer enthusiasts playing futsal during our winter season is just common sense. But why futsal? Because, it is the game that fosters growth in players’ skillsets, techniques, and mentality. We need to keep building on that narrative by working with our partners,” says Wong.
