For the first time ever, Futsal Canadian Championship introduced the Women’s Division to the event. There were games you witnessed an entire crew of female referees, statistics trackers, and even the athletic therapist serving in the games.

Here is one more – Stephanie Bunch, a volunteer photographer.

“I have photographed a number of high level amateur sporting events in Calgary and this event ranks as one of my favourites.”

She may have been ‘invisible’ as she was quietly sitting down or moving from fields to fields with a purple pinnie on. But her pictures captured a lot of fine moments in the matches!

“Firstly, I love the speed and action of Futsal and this level of competition was fantastic to watch and photograph.”

“The event organization, the venue and the crowds made the whole weekend fun to be a part of. I hope we get this event back to Calgary again soon.”
